Steve joined CIC in 2022 as a Consultant after serving with Northwestern Mutual as a Wealth Management Advisor and Managing Director for nine years. He serves wealthy families and business owners through a comprehensive and strategic approach, allowing clients to live with the confidence and peace of mind knowing that their unique goals and dreams can be accomplished. He believes that a great planning experience includes active listening, deep understanding, thorough analysis, strategic advice, and world class execution. Steve is a graduate of UCLA with a B.A. in Sociology. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM and a RETIREMENT INCOME CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL® while currently holding FINRA Series 7, 63, and 26 licenses.

Prior to his career in financial services, Steve enjoyed a career playing and coaching soccer both collegiately & professionally. A southern California native, Steve was a walk on for the nationally recognized UCLA men’s soccer program winning the 1997 NCAA National Championship. After graduating from UCLA, he was the #1 pick in the 2000 Major League Soccer draft and had a 10-year professional playing career followed by five years of coaching at both the collegiate and professional levels.

Outside of his professional life, Steve loves spending time with his family. He and his wife Kari have five incredible children, with whom they enjoy creating memorable experiences together. He currently serves on the board for I AM 24/7 and supports other faith-based organizations like Missionary Athletes International, Campus Outreach and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Following his daughter’s diagnosis of Type 1 Diabetes in 2017, Steve and his family have also been involved with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), an organization dedicated to finding a cure for the disease and a world without T1D.
